Founded in 2018 by Zona Bera, a visionary fashion designer with roots in Bengali culture and a degree in fashion design from NIFT, Onushshar is more than just a jewellery brand—it is a celebration of womanhood, self-love, and the timeless art of hand embroidery.
Our Journey
Growing up, Zona spent countless hours learning the intricacies of embroidery from her grandmothers and aunties—who were strong, resilient women, whose love and wisdom left a lasting impact on her. These intimate experiences instilled in her a deep appreciation for the beauty of womanhood and the charm of handmade art, eventually laying the foundation for Onushshar.
Driven by her passion for art and design, Zona chose an unconventional path by studying fashion design. After completing her bachelor’s degree at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), she decided not to pursue a conventional job as a designer. Instead, she followed her dream of building an identity of her own and started her entrepreneurial journey with a homegrown brand that she named Onushshar, as a tribute to her Bengali roots.
Onushshar had humble beginnings. From her bedroom, Zona began crafting one-of-a-kind hand-embroidered jewellery and accessories. Her designs were inspired by Bengal’s rich cultural heritage, infused with minimal, contemporary aesthetics—creating pieces that feel both nostalgic and modern.
Today, the brand reflects the essence of the journey of womanhood, offering unique, handmade jewellery that resonates with every modern woman.

Our zero-waste manufacturing process ensures that no material goes to waste. Textile scraps generated during production are creatively upcycled into thoughtful gifts for our customers, adding a personal and meaningful touch to every purchase.
