Founded in 2018 by Zona Bera, a visionary fashion designer with roots in Bengali culture and a degree in fashion design from NIFT, Onushshar is more than just a fashion brand—it is a celebration of self-love, womanhood, and the timeless beauty of embroidery.
Our Journey
Growing up, Zona spent countless hours learning the intricacies of embroidery from her grandmothers and aunties—
strong and resilient women whose spirit and wisdom left a lasting impact on her.
Watching them embrace their individuality and confidence taught her the importance of self-love and womanhood alongside the beauty of embroidery. These intimate experiences eventually laid the foundation for Onushshar.
Driven by her passion for art and design, Zona chose an unconventional path by studying fashion design. After completing her bachelor’s degree at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), she decided not to pursue a conventional job as a designer at a large company. Instead, she followed her dream of building an identity of her own and started her entrepreneurial journey by founding a homegrown brand that she named Onushshar, as a tribute to her Bengali roots.
Onushshar had humble beginnings. From her bedroom, Zona began crafting one-of-a-kind hand-embroidered jewellery and accessories. Her designs were inspired by Bengal’s rich cultural heritage, infused with minimal, contemporary aesthetics—creating products that feel nostalgic yet modern.
Today, the brand reflects the essence of a journey rooted in self-love and womanhood, offering unique, products that resonate with every modern woman, who values meaning as much as beauty.
Our Vision
Our journey began with hand-embroidered jewellery and accessories, each piece meticulously handcrafted to celebrate the strength and individuality of every woman.
Over the years, our vision of storytelling through hand embroidery grew, and in 2026, we expanded our product collections to include machine-embroidered apparel, bringing the beauty of embroidery into everyday wear with greater affordability and accessibility for our customers.
By blending these two techniques—hand and machine embroidery—we continue to explore the language of self-love and womanhood, creating pieces that are not only beautiful but deeply meaningful. Every creation, whether a delicately hand embroidered necklace or a thoughtfully designed machine embroidered T-shirt, carries the celebration of every woman’s journey toward confidence and self-expression.
Looking ahead, we plan to expand beyond jewellery, apparel, and accessories into other lifestyle categories, creating a more holistic brand that continues to celebrate sense of self and inner empowerment in every creation.

Zona works solo from her cozy home studio, where her ideas flourish and every detail truly matters. As a solopreneur, Zona wears many hats—designing, crafting, managing, marketing, packaging, and everything in between. Her vision and commitment to storytelling and artistry fuel her work, turning everyday challenges into moments of innovation and her home studio into a vibrant space of creativity.
